Unit 2 - Weather
[ Effects of Weather ]
HEALTH - EMOTION - ENVIRONMENT
The effects of changes in the weather on our health is irrefutable. The weather really does affect our mood and health. Climatic pressure can be felt by those with achy joints of metal implants in their bodies. It is evident that they can predict the weather better than some network television meteorologists. Investigations have shown that a majority of people experience difficulty building up energy on cloudy days and tend to feel glum.. Calm serenity is a principle of rainy days, so much that people listen to tapes, imitating the noise of raindrops in order to fall asleep. Sleepy, cloudy days with the healing sound of rain on the rooftop results in ultimate relaxation.
Sunlight has shown to be the best anti-depressant. The Sun is a person's most vital source of vitamin D. Without enough sunlight, vitamin D deficiency is a great risk and depressive weaknesses may follow. Many diseases are influenced by weather conditions; investigations show that suicide and depression rates increase during the winter months, due to the days being shorter and people staying in their homes to avoid the cold, unintentionally avoiding the necessary vitamin D.
When there's a storm screaming outside, we feel very energetic; our bodies reflect the energy of lightning, just as they reflect the energy of the sun. Storms excite some people and fill them with adrenaline whilst they fill others with uneasy fear.
